PURPOSE OF JOB:

To participate in and complete the Learnership programme for designated field of expertise.

PROGRAMME:

To enhance the abilities and performance of entry-level learners in the workplace, the 12-month program will include both practical on-site work experience and a theoretical component matched with a NQF Learnership curriculum. It imparts fundamental abilities in reading, math, communication, computers, and fundamental business concepts. It is appropriate for Grade 12 qualified individuals to acquire fundamental professional skills. As part of the practical component, learners will prepare for the workforce by offering administrative support to enhance managers’ and departments’ overall effectiveness. Entrepreneurship, business operations, customer service, business accounting, math literacy, communication skills, and computer skills will all be covered in the theoretical component.

ADDITIONAL EXPOSURE:

The student will help with the following tasks: reviewing environmental project life cycle reports and other pertinent environmental reports; reviewing environmental legislation; reviewing and approving the contractors’ environmental files; conducting site inspections, audits, and report compilations; arranging environmental meetings with the contractors and the appropriate project team; helping with the daily responsibilities of an environmental officer, attending meetings pertaining to the project, and providing updates on the status of the project.

FORMAL EDUCATION:

  • Matric/ Grade 12

CORE ELEMENTS:

  • Engage in the Learnership program and successfully finish the evaluation procedure;
  • Take part in all necessary exercises and activities to prepare for the workplace.
