REQUIREMENTS:
- a SAQA-recognized NQF level 6 qualification in law, public management, public administration, policing, criminology, forensics, or criminal justice.
- two years of experience working in law enforcement.
- familiarity with the Criminal Procedure Act, the Immigration Act, the Refugees Act, and the pertinent regulations.
- familiarity with international treaties.
- knowledge and comprehension of government structures, as well as the pertinent departmental and public service legislative frameworks. a current driver’s license (EC code). a current PDP (public driver’s permit). willingness to travel, even beyond South Africa’s borders.

DUTIES:
The successful candidates will be responsible for, amongst others, the following specific tasks:
- As required by the Immigration Act No. 13 of 2002, provide efficient law enforcement and oversight of the investigation of undocumented foreign nationals. Oversee, manage, and enforce the identification, tracking, apprehension, and detention of undocumented foreign nationals within the nation.
- Make sure that cases involving human trafficking, migrant smuggling, and the illicit mass manufacturing of supporting papers—such as birth certificates, travel documents, permits, visas, identity documents, and face value document theft—are effectively investigated.
- Help with high-profile situations, such as unlawful migration made possible by corruption.
- Participate in and provide testimony in criminal and civil court processes, as well as Department-sponsored disciplinary investigations.
- Keep an eye on the process of sending illegal foreigners back to their home countries. Oversee and
- Help create an environment in the nation that deters illegal immigration and guarantees that, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, unlawful aliens leave the country voluntarily or through deportation.
- Keep an eye on the number of foreigners living in the nation and make sure they are properly documented.
- Communicate promptly with all law enforcement organizations and other pertinent establishments regarding the identification verification of foreign nationals who violate the relevant laws.
- Oversee the legitimate expulsion and arrest of undocumented foreign nationals who refuse to leave the country freely.
- Join other law enforcement authorities in their efforts to combat crime. Attend case flow management meetings and security cluster forums.
- As instructed, create reports and statistics.
- Follow applicable departmental policy frameworks when operating, maintaining, and protecting the designated tools of trade and the allocated heavy-duty vehicle.
- Make ensuring that departmental policies and procedures are followed.
- Continually cultivate connections with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assure the Unit is financial, human, and physical resources are managed effectively and efficiently.
- Assist and mentor employees in adhering to all legal obligations.
