About Us:
Motus Ford Germiston is currently hiring for the Apprentice Level 1 position. The successful candidate will be part of a four-year Apprentice Training Programme and will work under the direction of the Service Manager. This position is ideal for someone who has a strong interest in vehicle repairs and aspires to become a skilled Motor Mechanic Technician.
Responsibilities:
-Assist technicians with vehicle repairs so they can gain practical experience under supervision.
-Remove and replace vehicle parts/units. -Jack up vehicles and set up trestles.
-Perform lubrication and oil changes (under supervision) in accordance with manual specifications.
-Replace wheels and air/oil filters. -Aid in various vehicle repair tasks. -Keep the work area clean and tidy.
-Attend scheduled technical/level training courses to enhance skills.
-Accompany technicians with cleaning and vehicle parts.
-Help with housekeeping; keep tools and equipment clean and in good order.
-Follow workplace safety and conduct rules and protocols.
-Perform any other reasonable duties required from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Grade 12 with a focus on pure math and physical science;
A valid driver’s license is preferred;
A clean criminal record is a requirement.
Skills and Attributes:
Technical expertise will be useful, as well as a strong focus on customer service and teamwork abilities.
