MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To attend to emergency calls and provide intermediate medical care in line with scope of practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Make sure you are operationally ready for emergencies.
Provide patient care within the parameters of your profession.
Promote ER24 and sustain a favorable public perception of it.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate or Higher certificate in Emergency Medical Care
DESIRED EDUCATION: It will be beneficial to have successfully completed the Clinical Practice Guidelines training program offered by the Health Professions Council of South Africa. If your application is accepted and you are found to be in compliance with the clinical practice guidelines at the time of application, you will have to do this course during your probationary period.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 1 year EMS experience
DESIRED EXPERIENCE : 1 year ILS experience
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Using recommended practices proficient with computers (Microsoft Office)
- Travel routes, amenities, and the local population
- Guidelines and scope of practice for HPCSA
- Forms for Patient
- Reports proficiency in both written and spoken English
