Key Responsibility Area
confirms every expense included on the invoices from creditors. keeps the computerized Debt Collection Ledger up to date and balanced with the Bad Debt Control Account. reconciles invoices with statements, looks into any unpaid checks, and imposes the appropriate fees. All authorized payment vouchers are captured and costed out on the JDE computer system. All unmet funds are reallocated toward recovered bad debts. conducts tests for new software modifications and enhancements. resolves all program issues and computer-related questions.
Administers all invoices, statements, vouchers, costing transfers, correspondence, etc.
Administers debtor status changes, transfer of debts, reinstatement of debts, etc.
coordinates and makes it easier for the Departments to access the Credit Bureau data facility. Answers departmental and audit questions and requests. creates and submits working papers for audits and statistics. assigns debtor files to collection agents and keeps track of collections. confirms that the default data facility has a list of all past-due debtors. reconciles debt collector payments received. gives the Legal Department instructions to start pursuing legal action about arrears.

Essential Requirements
Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or above,
with a certificate in finance and a core in accounting and/or mathematics.
a current driver’s license for a car.
three years of experience in the field.
proficiency with computers.
Preferred Requirements
a tertiary degree in accounting (NQF Level 6)
or a comparable program with a major in financial accounting.
four years of experience in the field.
