Key Responsibilities:

  • Branch Administration: To guarantee efficient operations, help with the library branch’s daily administrative duties.
  • Information Retrieval: Assist patrons of libraries in finding and using digital and physical information resources.
  • Circulation Services: Oversee the loan and return of library materials while maintaining precise documentation and prompt follow-ups.
  • Collection Development: To keep the library’s collection current and relevant, help with its weeding and development.
  • Reading Programs: Support the execution of reading campaigns and programs to encourage a love of reading and lifelong learning.
  • Support for Education: Offer assistance with educational programs and materials to library patrons, especially students and teachers.

Application Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • a diploma from Grade 12 or its equivalent.
  • relevant work experience, ideally in an information services or library setting.
  • It will be very beneficial to be proficient with SirsiDynix Symphony or any other library management system.
  • basic computer literacy, which includes knowledge of internet databases and the Microsoft Office Suite.
