Key Responsibilities and Duties

Customer Service Excellence

Maintaining a clean and safe store environment is critical. Housekeeping duties include:

• Keeping aisles clear of obstacles to ensure customer safety
• Merchandising stock immediately after it is received
• Ensuring customers can move freely without risk of injury or inconvenience
• Maintaining correct shelf price labelling within your area of responsibility
• Completing checklists as required, including canteen and toilet/shower schedules
• Ensuring store areas are tidy, organised, and compliant with company standards

Safety and OHSA Compliance

Safety is a top priority. The General Assistant must:

• Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations
• Use required safety gear correctly and consistently

• Ensure racking and bulk stock are safely merchandised

Minimum Requirements and Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this General Assistant vacancy in Fort Beaufort, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum Grade 10 or NQF Level 3, with at least 1 year of related work experience, OR
• Grade 12 (Matric) with no prior work experience
