DELIVERY DRIVER: CODE 10

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

A delivery driver’s duties include operating the designated truck safely, performing pre-inspection checks to guarantee roadworthiness, confirming and delivering items precisely and on schedule, maintaining good communication, adhering to safety and compliance regulations, offering first-rate customer service, and helping to ensure the efficient transportation of goods.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain thorough records of all daily activities, including mileage, fuel usage, delivery receipts, and any mishaps or events that arise while doing your job.
• These documents must be kept up to date in accordance with business guidelines and legal mandates.
• Communicate politely and professionally with customers, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders.
• They ought to assist and properly and swiftly respond to any queries or worries pertaining to the delivery procedure.
• Report any problems with their allocated trucks’ mechanics or maintenance needs.
• Follow the company’s vehicle maintenance and repair protocols and promptly report such issues to the relevant staff.
• Respect all company rules, including those pertaining to safety, code of behavior, and vehicle operating.
• Observe all applicable laws, including traffic laws.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• a Matric certificate from grade 12 or an equivalent certification.
• at least three to five years of demonstrated experience, preferably in the FMCG retail sector.
• a current PDP and a Code 10 or Code 14 (EC) license.
