Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Hold a Grade 12 or Matric certificate.
• possess a minimum of six months’ worth of cashier or till operations experience
• Show that you are proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Show off your prowess with numbers. Show off your outstanding mastery of the English language.
• Have rudimentary knowledge of customer service
• Be able and willing to work retail hours according to the schedule set by the store.

Job Description:
As a Cashier at Dis-Chem, your responsibilities will include:

• Following Dis-Chem’s guidelines and regulations for client service
• Building and preserving a professional rapport with clients notifying the frontline supervisor
• or the store management of any complaints
• or positive comments received from customers
• Following the recommended hourly rate for client turnover
• Keeping up with the latest deals, discounts, and products available in stores ensuring coworkers’ and clients’ safety and security
• Keeping an eye on cash flow safely and effectively
• Using the Dis-Chem operating system, precisely processing all purchases and payments managing returns and swaps of goods in accordance with corporate policies managing and keeping cash in a secure manner, including handling loyalty card transactions and other payment methods
• Notifying management right away of any questionable conduct or security issues
• Responding to consumer inquiries on shop inventory observing Dis-Chem’s security guidelines and protocols to the letter

Competencies:
