- Run machinery used in product manufacture and packaging.
- Set up, tidy, and examine workspaces and tools.
- Diagnose equipment and bring up maintenance concerns.
- Perform the necessary administrative and training duties.
Responsibilities
Operational Support
- Determine any gaps in the policies and practices in place.
- Optimize and make process implementation easier.
- Maintain adherence to GMP and SHE standards while operating equipment in accordance with standards and expected efficiency.
Exams and confirmationsPerform pre-production checks, including environmental, scale, and equipment pre-checks in accordance with BMR, SOP, and product specifications. Verify the performance of scale and measuring equipment. Production Preparation. Ensure that materials and equipment for manufacturing are available. Perform Type-A and Type-B changeovers. Clean and prepare the area and equipment before and after processing. Create solutions for production activities in accordance with SOP.
Production Processing· Clear and feed the manufacturing line· End of line packing and inspections· Perform central lining review to establish optimal production settings
Routine Support Tasks
- Prior to and following material processing, keep the workspace and equipment clean.
- Conduct pre-checks on equipment and assist with equipment transfers.
- Sort defective products and discard them in accordance with protocols.
- Provide details to help with campaign planning.
- Teach new operators and assistants and transfer skills
- Run production and packaging lines in accordance with specifications.
- Fix minor issues and help with big maintenance and breakdowns.
- Follow autonomous maintenance guidelines for minor maintenance, adjustments, and changeovers.
Troubleshooting
- Analyze the underlying causes of machine issues.
- Bring up maintenance concerns with management so they can be fixed.
- Make machine adjustments and perform preventative maintenance.
Reporting & Record Keeping
- Complete OEE sheets and batch record labels
- Conduct inspections of the production area(s) every 30 minutes.
- Keep track of production and machine downtime.
- Participate in shift meetings Conduct quality inspections or IPQC in accordance with the relevant regions.
- Provide data for reports and compile common documents.
- As needed, keep up with and update systems and records.
Skills Required
Background/experience
- National Certification (N3)/ Matric/ National Senior Certificate (NSc)/ NQF 4 with 0-2 years’ related experience
- Manufacturing experience
Specific job skills
- Basic technical knowledge of Pharmaceutical production processes, procedures, systems and equipment.
- Basic understanding of Pharmaceutical standards and compliance requirements
