JOB PURPOSE:
To carry commuters in a safe, dependable manner, adhering to all traffic and road laws, to a variety of locations on time, according to schedule, and on the appropriate routes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Matric: Grade 12/NQF level 4 plus,
- Standard 10 or higher;
- valid driver’s license with code EC1/04 or EC, C. a current professional driver’s license.
- Five (5) years minimum of heavy-duty vehicle or heavy-duty public bus transportation utility driving experience.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS ARE INTERALIA AS FOLLOWS:
- carrying out bus inspections before and after trips.
- Follow the sign-on instructions at the bus dispatch office.
- Follow the approved schedule when working the assigned shift.
- Gather all authorized fares and provide tickets based on the distance traveled.
- Every day, pay in all fares that have been collected.
- Respect all traffic laws and safety standards, both before and during your shift.
- Answer any questions passengers may have about the schedule and routes.
- Always display the accurate destination information. in charge of general bus hygiene and safety.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
- strong writing and verbal communication abilities.
- focus on providing excellent customer service.
- functional familiarity with Johannesburg’s topography.
