REQUIREMENTS:
- a suitable Bachelor of Social Work degree (NQF 7) or a comparable credential.
- enrollment as a social worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions.
- familiarity with pertinent public service laws. capable in any of the Free State Province’s official languages.
- A practicum or internship in a social development context will be beneficial.
- Having a current driver’s license from South Africa will be beneficial.
- The candidate has to know how to use a computer.
- Planning, organizing, communicating, and counseling. resolving conflicts, diversity management, time management, stress management, and problem solving.
- the capacity to function in a multidisciplinary group.
- familiarity with and comprehension of social services-related legislation in South Africa.
DUTIES:
- Provide social work services through the appropriate programs for the development, protection, care, and support of vulnerable people, families, and groups.
- Deal with any other issue that may lead to or originate from societal instability in any way.
- Stay informed on recent advancements in the domains of social work and social welfare.
This would, inter alia, entail the following:
- Examine scholarly journals and publications to make sure you are aware of any new advancements.
- The legal and policy framework for social services should be regularly observed and studied.
- Participate in ongoing professional development exercises as directed.
- Fulfill all administrative responsibilities as stipulated by the position.
