REQUIREMENTS
– Basic Literacy or Grade 10.
– Grade 12 (added advantage).
– Valid Driver’s License (added advantage).
– Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (must be bilingual).
– Ability to follow & execute given instructions.
– Good physical health, basic skill & know how to do physical work.
– A hardworking self-disciplined person.
– 01-year relevant experience in general work related to Waste management within Local Government Authority.
DUTIES
– Cleans up litter and does any other general labor associated with running a waste disposal facility.
– Maintains the landfill and its operations.
– Helps at the recycling center when needed.
– Helps spotters direct and control landfill traffic.
– Assists customers and the public with waste disposal.
– Picks up metal and other sharp objects to reduce exposure to customer flat tires.
– Stores equipment safely after completion of the duty to ensure safe upkeep of the protective clothes in use during work.
– Cleans and removes weeds from pavements.
– Responsible for loading and unloading materials and equipment of the section as needed.
– Removes refuse from homes.
– Emptying streets and public dustbins;
– Sweeping streets, sidewalks, taxi and bus ranks;
– Picking up litter along streets and main roads, including public open spaces;
– Removing building rubble from public places;
– Cleaning of rubbish in front of buildings, streets, taxi and bus ranks, open space;
– Cleaning of municipal buildings and facilities;
– Executing all legal instructions from the supervisor to ensure productivity and smooth running of the section;
– Performing any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
