Job Description
For the Polokwane branch, Alert Engine Parts is hiring general workers. General warehouse tasks including stock taking, binning, picking, packing, checking, transferring stock, and making sure the warehouse is always clean are all part of the job description.
Requirements:
- Equivalent reading and numeracy for grade 12
- Three years or more of experience in a warehouse or logistics setting;
- preferred spares, motor, and engine part knowledge;
- familiarity with warehouse systems and procedures Efficiency, accuracy, focus, and attention to detail are required.
- Numeracy and literacy skills are also required.
- Self-driven and prepared to go above and beyond
- A team player is required.

Key Performance Indicators includes, but not limited to.
Binning
- Make sure that standard operating procedures and criteria are followed when binning incoming products and replenishing inventory from bulk to pick locations.
- Make sure that new products are assigned to the appropriate warehouse area with bin location numbers.
- Make sure the bins are updated, and that the stock allotted to the new bin locations is reported and updated to your superior.
- support replenishment tasks Make sure all inbound items are received and examined in accordance with business policies.
Picking
- Make sure branch and customer orders are picked promptly in order to satisfy order deadlines.
- Make sure that, in order to avoid breaking pack sizes, picking from bulk locations should only be done as a backup bin when stock runs out and is not refilled during the picking phase or while picking bulk orders.
- Follow any reasonable and legal instructions on the task that your supervisor has given you.
- Adhere to all pertinent protocols in order to optimize client satisfaction.
- Help with the inventory take processes
- Make careful to clean the house every day.
- To maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and to avoid inventory loss, make sure extra inspections are performed.
- Make ensuring that the standard operating targets are continuously met.
Scanner Control
- Every day, give scanners to every operator.
- Scanners can be reserved via the electronic app.
- After receiving scanners back from operators, check them for damage and rebook them on the app.
- Notify the supervisor of any damage.
- Fill up the spreadsheet for daily scanner issues.
