REQUIREMENTS:
- a principal’s endorsement and a grade 9 or school leaving certificate.
- Evidence of participation in PEYI will be beneficial.

DUTIES:
- In a dorm for students with special education needs, a hostel assistant’s duties are varied and center on giving these students attention, assistance, and a comfortable environment.
- Among the many tasks assigned by supervisors are laundry services, meal preparation, and learner personal care.
- In order to ensure that students with special needs are comfortable, positioned correctly, and safe, personal care involves helping them with everyday tasks like dressing, grooming, toileting, and bathing.
- It also involves offering mobility support and assisting with the use of assistive equipment.
- Laundry services include cleaning, drying, and folding the clothing and personal belongings of students.
- Cooking, cleaning, and preparing wholesome meals that satisfy the nutritional needs and preferences of students are all included in kitchen services.
