For the role of Tunnel Forklift driver, which will be based at the McCain Springs plant in Gauteng, applications are being accepted from properly qualified applicants. The selected candidate will work under the direction of the Processing Shift Manager.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
In charge of provide the support required for any forklift needs within the department
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Maintaining a high standard of 5S, housekeeping, and hygiene on and around the forklift;
- ensuring that the CHEP pallets used in the packing hall are of good quality;
- moving used palletainer liners from the processing hall;
- and making sure that the processing hall has enough palletainer space are all responsibilities of the job.
- Additionally, you are responsible for BOS and good catches on the machines and for reporting any safety issues associated with machinery being operated.
- Complete the daily forklift checklist at the beginning of the shift.
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- Three years of experience in the food manufacturing industry;
- good interpersonal skills;
- valid forklift license;
- compliance with food safety regulations;
- labor relations act
Abilities / Competencies
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes.
- Good people skills Good communication skills
- Ability to operate under pressure with limited supervision.
- Ability to interact at all levels Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
