Minimum Requirements

To qualify for the EPWP Internship 2026 in South Africa, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Education

  • A recognised three‑year Bachelor’s Degree, National Diploma, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of data management and reporting
  • Understanding of EPWP programmes and government structures
  • Computer literacy in:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint

Core Competencies

  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will provide support across multiple areas, including:

Project Support & Coordination

  • Assist with youth empowerment and development initiatives
  • Support project implementation and monitoring

Reporting & Administration

  • Evaluate monthly reports and project documentation
  • Capture and manage project data using spreadsheets
  • Maintain proper filing systems and records

Finance & Documentation

  • Assist with invoice processing
  • Prepare supporting financial documents
  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements

Systems & Data Management

  • Upload project information and contracts onto government systems
  • Maintain digital records and databases
  • Support data accuracy and reporting processes

Site Visits & Monitoring

  • Participate in project site visits
  • Assist with monitoring progress and evaluating performance
  • Report findings to supervisors

General Administrative Support

  • Provide administrative assistance within the Directorate
  • Assist with meeting coordination and documentation
  • Support daily operations within the unit
