🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or relevant NQF Level 4 qualification
- A BSc Degree will be considered an added advantage
- 0–1 year relevant working experience (entry-level candidates are welcome to apply)
- Basic understanding of:

- Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Organisational policies and procedures
💼 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative, operational, and customer service duties, including:
🧪 Sample & Laboratory Administration
- Administer the receiving, sorting, and distribution of medical samples
- Ensure all specimens are correctly logged, recorded, and prioritized
- Follow strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample handling
- Monitor and track specimen movement to ensure timely processing
- Identify and help resolve delays or bottlenecks in laboratory processes
🗂️ Data Capturing & Reporting
- Capture and register samples accurately in the system
- Manage queries related to sample registration and reporting
- File reports and ensure they are delivered within turnaround times
- Scan patient forms into the laboratory system (e.g., Oculus)
- Resolve scanning errors and incomplete records
🚚 Logistics & Coordination
- Track deliveries and ensure specimens reach the correct laboratories
- Conduct hospital rounds:
- Collect new samples
- Deliver reports to relevant departments
- Ensure all dispatching procedures are followed correctly
🧍 Reception & Customer Service
- Manage the reception area professionally
- Welcome and assist patients and visitors
- Provide relevant information and direct clients appropriately
- Handle administrative queries and complaints efficiently
- Maintain a high level of customer care and professionalism
💰 Financial Handling
- Receive payments from patients
- Ensure proper handling and banking of cash according to procedures
📦 Stock & Housekeeping
- Monitor stock levels and order supplies when necessary
- Ensure availability of materials at all times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Prepare and clean equipment as required
📝 Compliance & Reporting
- Report incidents and log customer complaints
- Use laboratory systems to read, update, and complete tasks
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Adhere to workplace dress code and uniform standards
