Position Overview: General Worker Cleaner
The General Worker Cleaner plays an essential support role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑functioning operational environment. This position involves a mix of cleaning, yard maintenance, basic building maintenance, and general upkeep, ensuring that facilities, equipment, and outdoor areas meet company standards.
The successful candidate will contribute directly to operational efficiency and workplace safety by keeping the yard, buildings, and surrounding areas clean, organised, and in good working condition.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00
- Overtime: Must be willing to work overtime when required by operational demands
Key Responsibilities and Duties
1. Yard and Outdoor Area Maintenance
- Ensure the yard area is kept neat, clean, tidy, and well‑maintained
- Remove debris, waste, and unwanted materials from operational areas
- Maintain clear walkways and safe working areas for staff and vehicles
2. General Cleaning and Housekeeping
- Perform daily cleaning tasks in workshop, warehouse, and common areas
- Support housekeeping activities to maintain cleanliness and order
- Assist with gardening and outdoor maintenance as required
3. General Maintenance Duties
- Assist with basic building maintenance, including:
- Roller doors
- Lighting
- Flooring
- Painting
- Minor welding tasks
- Identify maintenance issues and report them to management promptly
- Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned and stored correctly
4. Operational Support
- Assist colleagues with general duties when required
- Support smooth site operations by maintaining clean and functional spaces
- Adhere to health, safety, and operational procedures at all times
Minimum Requirements

Education
- Grade 12 (Matric) – minimum requirement
Communication
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in understanding instructions
Experience & Skills
- General knowledge of vehicles and logistics environments
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools
- Willingness to learn and take instructions
Licences (Advantage)
- Forklift Driver’s Licence – preferable but not mandatory
