Job Description: Brewing Process Assistant

Purpose

The primary objective of this role is to support the management and handling of raw materials in the brewing process, ensuring consistent product quality, optimal production efficiency, and minimal waste.

Key Responsibilities

Brewing Process Operations:

-Gain a comprehensive understanding of brewing operations.

-Plan and manage raw material handling to support production goals.

-Monitor process performance and quality metrics to maintain standards.

Plant and Process Optimization:

-Enhance plant and process efficiency where opportunities arise.

-Perform housekeeping duties, adhering to 5S principles and safe work practices.

-Identify and rectify unsafe practices promptly.

-Assist in drafting and documenting standard work procedures, including quick-fix routines.

Quality Control and Analysis:

-Apply problem-solving techniques (e.g., quick-fix routines) to address quality issues.

-Escalate unresolved problems to the Brewing Area Manager (BAM) as needed.

Communication:

-Engage actively in meetings and goal-setting reviews.

-Document issues, problems, and improvement ideas using tools like the gap list.

-Utilize communication channels (e.g., shift logbooks) to stay informed and share updates.

-Conduct thorough handovers to incoming shift teams, highlighting performance and quality issues.

Problem-Solving and Maintenance:

-Respond swiftly to process triggers that risk destabilizing operations.

-Use structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 5Y, quick-fix routines) to resolve issues.

-Complete autonomous maintenance tasks to support plant reliability.

Team Collaboration:

-Contribute as a proactive team member, communicating effectively and offering support.

-Demonstrate initiative, energy, and a drive to exceed standards.

-Work flexibly, including outside regular hours or on weekends, to meet production needs.

Minimum Requirements

-Grade 12 Matric Certificate or equivalent higher certificate.
