**Key Purpose**
This role involves overseeing daily administration and leading a small team within the Umbrella Fund Operations of the Retirement Funds business unit. The incumbent will manage a range of Retirement Fund processes, including monthly contributions, claims, investment options, individual transfers, and compliance with regulations like the Pension Funds Act and Tax Act. The role demands ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant operations while driving continuous improvement, adapting to change, and inspiring the team to challenge conventional approaches. The incumbent will review processes to deliver exceptional service to Umbrella Funds clients.
**Areas of Responsibility**
– Process daily and monthly transactions within agreed service levels.
– Conduct quality assurance for document verification as needed.
– Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, including the Pension Funds Act, Tax Act, and Discovery Life Umbrella Fund rules.
– Maintain high standards of data completeness and quality.
– Resolve queries and escalations from internal stakeholders and clients, ensuring client satisfaction.
– Prepare and submit management and client reports.
– Build strong relationships with internal and external brokers.
– Support the Team Manager in project management.
– Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Retirement Fund operations, driving innovative solutions, root cause analysis, and risk-informed decision-making.

**Education and Experience**
– Matric (essential); further studies advantageous.
– Strong telephone etiquette, attention to detail, and customer-centric mindset.
– Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel), accounting, and operational process mapping.
– Familiarity with Compass and Paradigm systems (internal).
– 3–5 years of claims experience in long-term insurance; pension and provident fund experience is a plus.
– Knowledge of employee benefits and group risk claim operations.
