Successful candidates will be placed within Learning and Development (L&D) under the Human Capital Solutions business unit, where they will gain hands‑on experience in HR operations, training coordination, digital HR systems, stakeholder management, and learning analytics.
Purpose of the Job
The HR Novices programme aims to provide structured workplace learning for individuals aspiring to build a career in Human Resources. Interns will be exposed to practical Learning and Development duties—including training coordination, system administration, reporting, and general HR support tasks.
This is a 12‑month internship, with the possibility of extension based on performance, business needs, and demonstrated potential.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, candidates must have:
- A post‑matric HR qualification (N6, Diploma, Higher Certificate, Degree, etc.)
- 0+ years of working experience (no prior experience required)
- Basic computer proficiency
- Strong willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a corporate HR environment

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
As an HR Novice at Sasol, you will be fully immersed in the daily operations of Learning and Development. You will learn from experts and contribute meaningfully to HR processes.
1. Training Coordination & Scheduling
- Plan, schedule, and manage bookings for internal and external training programmes.
- Support the smooth running of workshops, induction sessions, and learning events.
- Liaise with training providers, facilitators, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure training sessions are confirmed, communicated, and well‑coordinated.
2. Document & Records Management
- Capture training history and learning records on relevant HR systems.
- Manage document control, including proper filing, archiving, and tracking.
- Maintain Learning and Development documentation as per OME standards.
- Ensure confidentiality, version control, and accurate record‑keeping.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
- Provide client‑facing support to employees and line managers.
- Attend meetings, support training queries, and build positive internal relationships.
- Engage with multiple business units to ensure training requirements are met.
4. Learning Systems Administration
You will receive exposure to industry‑leading HR technologies, including:
- SAP LSO (Learning Solution)
- T@W LMS (Training @ Work Learning Management System)
Your responsibilities include:
- Registering employees for courses
- Updating learner statuses
- Managing learning workflows
- Ensuring system accuracy and compliance with HR standards
5. Reporting & Learning Analytics
- Assist with preparing learning reports, dashboards, and analytics insights.
- Track and measure training completion, attendance, gaps, and learning effectiveness.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles.
6. Multi‑Functional HR Administrative Support
- Assist with general HR administration across Learning and Development.
- Help support process improvements and performance initiatives.
- Execute HR tasks aligned with Sasol’s IM and HR standards.
