This role is a critical support function within the casino finance environment, responsible for gaming revenue reconciliation, audits, statutory compliance, and administration in line with strict gaming legislation and internal controls.

Position Overview: Casino Administration Clerk

The Casino Administration Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all casino gaming revenue documentation and transactions. The incumbent is responsible for compiling, capturing, auditing, reconciling, and distributing gaming‑related documents originating from casino gaming operations, count room activities, and cash desk processes.

All duties must be performed in accordance with:

  • Financial and statutory requirements

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to:

  • Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of casino gaming revenue
  • Support compliance with gaming legislation and financial regulations
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies
  • Provide reliable financial data for analysis, reporting, and verification
  • Protect company revenue through effective controls and audits

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

1. Casino Revenue Reconciliation

  • Verify that counted casino revenue is correctly captured in the Gaming System (EGS)
  • Ensure balances reconcile between:
    • Gaming systems
    • General Ledger
    • Reconciliations
    • Statements
    • Source documentation
  • Investigate and resolve revenue discrepancies and variances
  • Conduct daily quality assurance on count and cash desk documentation
  • Allocate statutory requirements to the correct accounts, including:
    • VAT
    • Gaming board levies
  • Escalate errors and variances timeously
  • Report daily on revenue counts and discrepancies
  • Process and investigate online and manual system adjustments
  • Respond to gaming accounting queries from the Shared Services Centre
  • Maintain accurate filing and backup documentation

2. Casino Administration Audits

  • Update and maintain internal audit templates for count room and cash desk operations
  • Communicate audit templates to relevant casino departments
  • Schedule and conduct regular internal audits on processes, systems, and data
  • Perform audits on:
    • Count room processes
    • Cash desk operations
    • Slots (soft count, meters, jackpots)
    • Tables (fills, credits, tips, chips, coupons)
  • Complete monthly inventory counts:
    • Playing cards
    • Layouts
    • Casino stationery for operating expense (OE) calculations
  • Conduct numbered stationery audits
  • Perform MVG merchandise audits
  • Conduct online investigations and identify suspicious transactions in line with legislative requirements
  • Conduct ACM (CAIONS) audits, including:
    • Reconciliation between ART client and SDS
    • Removals and loadings
  • Conduct Cage audits and reconcile cage balances to manual paperwork
  • Make recommendations to address control weaknesses and prevent revenue losses

Education Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum educational requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics / Numerical literacy
  • Basic Bookkeeping Certificate

These qualifications are essential due to the numerical, auditing, and financial nature of the role.


Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in:
    • Casino gaming operations and/or
    • Auditing and/or
    • Financial administration within a regulated environment
  • Experience working with:
    • Accounting systems or
    • Casino Management Systems

Experience within a casino or gaming environment will be a strong advantage.
