Job Description
Alert Engine Parts is seeking a General Worker to join our Brackenfell Branch. The role involves performing essential warehouse tasks, including stocktaking, binning, picking, packing, checking, and moving stock, while keeping the warehouse consistently clean and organized.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Binning
-Bin incoming merchandise and replenish inventory from bulk to pick locations according to standard operating procedures.
-Assign bin location numbers to new products in the appropriate warehouse zones.
-Update bin records, report stock allocations to new locations to your supervisor, and ensure accuracy.
-Assist with replenishment tasks as needed.
-Receive and inspect incoming goods to meet company standards.
Picking
-Pick customer and branch orders promptly to meet order deadlines.
-Use bulk locations for picking only when pick location stock is depleted and not replenished, or for bulk orders, to avoid breaking pack sizes.
-Follow reasonable and lawful instructions from your supervisor related to work tasks.
-Adhere to procedures that enhance customer satisfaction efficiently.
-Support stocktaking processes as required.
-Perform daily housekeeping duties.
-Conduct double-checks to ensure high customer satisfaction and prevent inventory loss.
-Consistently meet established operational performance targets.
Scanner Control
-Distribute scanners to operators each day.
-Log scanners out using the electronic app.
-Collect scanners from operators, check for damage, and log them back into stock via the app.
-Report any scanner damage to your supervisor.
-Maintain and update the daily scanner issue spreadsheet.
Qualifications and Experience
-Grade 12 with equivalent literacy and numeracy skills.
-At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics setting (preferred).
-Knowledge of spares, motor, or engine parts, as well as warehouse systems and processes, is an advantage.
