Key Purpose of the Learnership
Discovery is offering an exciting Learnership opportunity that leads to a nationally recognized qualification: the Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Long Term Insurance NQF Level 4.
This programme is designed to combine structured theoretical learning with hands-on workplace experience in a thriving financial services environment. You’ll gain insight into multiple facets of the insurance industry while developing the core skills necessary to build a successful and impactful career.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Areas
You will be placed in one of Discovery’s dynamic teams such as:
- Call Centre:
- Handling client servicing for medical aid and insurance products
- Managing new business queries and claims processing
- Providing guidance on health benefits and policies
- Ensuring excellent customer service across multiple channels (email, phone, and digital platforms)
You will also be exposed to:
- Customer care strategies and service recovery
- Business administration and client communication
- Claims adjudication and compliance
- Basic insurance products and Discovery’s operational systems
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following compulsory criteria:
- Grade 12/Matric certificate with:
- English: Minimum Level 4 (50%)
- Mathematics: Minimum Level 4 (50%) or
- Mathematical Literacy: Minimum Level 5 (60%)
- A 2nd language: Minimum Level 4 (50%)
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 25 years
- Must not be employed or engaged in any post-matric studies
- Must not have completed any prior learnership
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have basic computer literacy (MS Excel and MS Outlook skills essential)
- May have an incomplete tertiary qualification (advantageous, but not required)
