Job Purpose
The Warehouse Operator plays a critical role in ensuring that the flow of goods within the warehouse is managed efficiently, accurately, and safely. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing warehouse activities as per daily plans, maintaining operational efficiency, and ensuring the timely and accurate movement of stock. This includes loading and offloading trucks, stock counting, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Warehouse Operator reports directly to the Team Leader in the Manufacturing department.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Loading and Dispatch:
- Load trucks and trailers accurately, on time, and in full compliance with the daily plan.
- Follow loading guidelines to ensure all SKUs are correctly placed and secured.
- Pallets must be stretch-wrapped according to operational standards.
2. Stock Handling and Movement:
- Remove stock from production lines promptly to prevent production downtime caused by forklift delays.
- Pick loads accurately and within the required time frames.
- Sort and manage all returns from trade, including crates, good stock, and trade replacements.
3. Housekeeping and Compliance:
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse in line with CCBSA’s housekeeping standards.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, operational processes, and standard operating practices.
- Support compliance during audits and stock takes.
4. Stock Management and Reporting:
- Participate in daily stock counts to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Complete repacking of damaged products as required.
- Ensure asset care by following proper handling guidelines for equipment and tools.
5. Equipment and Asset Management:
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and handheld devices (HHTs).
- Take responsibility for the care and maintenance of warehouse assets and report any faults promptly.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
Knowledge:
- Understanding of warehouse processes and operations.
- Familiarity with warehouse performance measures and stock management procedures.
- Knowledge of asset care and safety requirements.
Skills:
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks); a valid forklift license is advantageous.
- Basic proficiency in using handheld technology (HHTs) for inventory and dispatch functions.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills to ensure accuracy in stock handling and reporting.

Qualifications and Experience
- Matric / Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) is essential.
- Must be conversant in English (home language or first additional language).
- Minimum of 6–12 months relevant warehouse experience, preferably in load-making or forklift operation.
- Valid forklift license advantageous; successful candidates without a license will be trained.
- Clear criminal and credit record.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Working Environment and Conditions
This role requires physical effort, including standing, lifting, and moving heavy stock. Applicants must be prepared to work in a fast-paced and structured warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times. Flexibility to work shifts and extended hours during peak periods is essential.
