Job Purpose

This learnership is designed to provide structured, work-based learning that combines classroom theory with on-the-job experience. The program equips participants with the commercial acumen, sales techniques, and visual merchandising skills needed to service retail customers effectively, grow product volume, facilitate order processes, and maintain world-class merchandising standards.

Learners will interact with internal and external stakeholders, develop a deep understanding of customer needs, and ensure Coca-Cola products are presented and promoted to enhance visibility and drive sales within a designated geographical area.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. In-Store Execution and Merchandising Excellence

  • Execute daily call schedules across assigned bronze and tin outlets in line with planned objectives.
  • Implement and maintain Coca-Cola’s visual merchandising standards, including product placement, point-of-sale material, and promotional displays.
  • Conduct stock rotation, ensuring that products are always fresh and correctly dated.
  • Maintain product availability and visibility to meet RED (Right Execution Daily) and execution scorecard standards.
  • Complete iRED surveys to assess compliance with merchandising and execution requirements.

2. Customer Support and Order Facilitation

  • Support and educate customers on using the MyCCBA digital platform to place orders efficiently.
  • Provide product knowledge and merchandising advice to customers, helping to optimize sales.
  • Build positive customer relationships through professional, timely, and solution-oriented interactions.

3. Promotional and Brand Activation Support

  • Assist the sales team in executing promotional activities to increase brand awareness and drive volume.
  • Set up promotional displays and ensure all campaign material is correctly implemented.
  • Provide relief support across stores or outlets when requested by the line manager.

4. Team Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

  • Work closely with the Account Developer and Sales Team members to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and feedback discussions.
  • Share insights from the market, including consumer preferences, competitor activity, and sales opportunities.

Skills, Knowledge and Education

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric with a minimum 40% pass in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
  • Grade 12/Matric with a minimum 40% pass in English and a second language.
  • South African citizen between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Must be unemployed at the time of appointment.
  • Employment Equity candidates only.
  • Clear criminal and credit record; consent to verification checks (ID, criminal, qualification).
  • Available to work six days a week.
  • Not enrolled in another learnership or full-time study.
  • Must not have completed the same qualification/learnership previously.

Advantageous:

  • Valid driver’s license (may be required to travel between outlets).
  • Post-matric qualification in Sales or Marketing.

Program Details and Structure

  • Duration: 12 months (structured learning and workplace experience).
  • Qualification: Participants must complete a minimum of 120 credits to achieve the learnership qualification.
  • Reporting: Learners will report to the Account Developer and receive ongoing coaching and feedback.
