We are seeking a dedicated Crew Transport Driver to join our Operations team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safe, punctual, and professional transportation of crew and staff between airports, hotels, training centres, and other designated locations.


Purpose of the Role

The Crew Transport Driver is responsible for ensuring the smooth and safe transportation of airline crew and staff while maintaining a professional standard of customer service at all times. This role is operationally critical, requiring a high level of accountability, safety awareness, and punctuality to support our day-to-day flight schedules and training operations.


Key Responsibilities

Operations

  • Safely transport crew and staff between airports, training centres, hotels, and other designated points as scheduled.
  • Assist with ad-hoc collections and deliveries of company-related materials when required.
  • Ensure strict adherence to operational timelines and schedules to support on-time performance.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and promptly report any defects, irregularities, or incidents.
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean, roadworthy, and presentable condition at all times.
  • Monitor service intervals, vehicle maintenance, and licensing renewals to ensure compliance.
  • Accurately record mileage, fuel usage, and trip details; submit receipts, logs, and reports timeously.
  • Adhere to all company policies on safety, security, and road safety regulations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide consistently professional, courteous, and customer-focused service to crew and staff.
  • Act as an ambassador for FlySafair, ensuring crew/staff feel safe, respected, and valued.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding schedules, route adjustments, or operational challenges.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate or equivalent (Essential).
  • Licence: Valid Code B Driver’s Licence with Professional Driving Permit (PDP) (Essential).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ professional driving experience, preferably within crew/staff transport, shuttle, or corporate driving environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work irregular shifts, weekends, and public holidays (Essential).
  • Must be medically fit in accordance with company and operational standards.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Sound understanding of road traffic laws, safety practices, and driving regulations.
