Programme Purpose
The Lucy Electric Learnership Programme is designed to provide a comprehensive work-based learning experience that integrates theoretical instruction with practical exposure across various departments. Participants will develop essential administrative, operational, and interpersonal skills that contribute to business efficiency and personal growth.
This programme aims to prepare learners for entry-level positions in business and operations administration, contributing to their future employability and supporting the company’s commitment to youth development and skills transformation.
Key Responsibilities and Learning Areas
Throughout the programme, learners will rotate across different business units to gain a broad understanding of organisational functions and workflow processes. Under the guidance of experienced mentors and departmental managers, the successful candidates will:
1. Administrative and Operational Support
- Assist with daily office administration tasks such as data entry, filing, document management, and scheduling.
- Manage incoming and outgoing calls, emails, and other communication channels professionally.
- Support front-office and reception functions, including greeting visitors and coordinating meeting rooms.
- Assist with travel arrangements, including booking accommodation, flights, and transport.
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of meeting spaces, boardrooms, and shared facilities.
2. Departmental Learning Exposure
- Rotate across core departments such as Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Technical Support.
- Observe and assist team members with ongoing projects and administrative activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings to gain exposure to reporting, coordination, and planning processes.
- Learn and apply company policies, business standards, and workplace health and safety procedures.
3. Professional Development
- Attend scheduled training sessions, workshops, and e-learning modules as part of the formal qualification.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance and participation in all learning interventions.
- Complete assessments and maintain a learner portfolio of evidence (POE) as required by the SETA qualification framework.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and apply theoretical knowledge in practical work scenarios.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the following entry criteria:
- Educational Qualification:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (NQF Level 4).
- Employment Status:
- Currently unemployed and not participating in any other SETA-funded programme.
- Computer Literacy:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Commitment:
- Willingness and ability to commit to the full learnership duration (12 months).
- Available to work at the Honeydew office throughout the programme.

Programme Structure
The learnership offers structured workplace exposure combined with theoretical classroom training, leading to a nationally recognised qualification registered with the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and administered through an accredited Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA).
Duration: 12 Months (Full-Time Fixed-Term Contract)
