ROLE PURPOSE

The Sales Learnership Programme aims to give unemployed youth the chance to gain practical workplace experience while completing a formal qualification.

Over the 18‑month duration, learners will engage in:

  • Classroom‑based theoretical training
  • Real-world work exposure within Metropolitan Life branches
  • Sales, customer service, administration, and financial advice experience

The programme is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in the insurance and financial services industry.

Upon successful completion and performance, learners may be eligible to obtain a Wealth Management NQF Level 4 qualification, paving the way for roles such as:

  • Financial Advisor
  • Sales Consultant
  • Client Service Representative
  • Insurance Administrator
  • Customer Experience Specialist

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for the Sales Learnership, candidates must meet the following:

Education Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification

Age Requirement

  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old

Citizenship

  • South African citizen by birth

Employment Status

  • Must be unemployed

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES DURING THE LEARNERSHIP

As part of the 18‑month programme, learners will be required to perform the following:


1. Academic & Training Responsibilities

  • Complete all required theoretical training modules
  • Submit assignments, assessments, and portfolios of evidence on time
  • Participate actively in all classroom and workplace training sessions

2. Administrative Support

  • Complete administrative and reporting duties accurately and on time
  • Maintain documents, records, and files according to company standards
  • Compile and distribute documentation for internal processes
  • Assist with basic office housekeeping duties

3. Customer Service Responsibilities

  • Attend to client queries professionally, courteously, and efficiently
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met and exceeded
  • Screen incoming enquiries and direct them to the correct departments
  • Assist in resolving client queries promptly and effectively

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate clearly and professionally at all times
  • Maintain strong interpersonal skills to support sales teams
