The Department of Agriculture (DOA) is inviting applications for a permanent Administration Clerk position within the Directorate: Land Use and Soil Management. 🎓 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must meet the following:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate
  • No experience required

📚 JOB-RELATED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

Candidates should have knowledge of:

  • Clerical duties and administrative practices
  • Data capturing and record keeping
  • Operating a computer and basic office software
  • Collecting and updating statistics

📝 KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

📂 General Clerical Support

  • Record, organise, store, capture and retrieve correspondence and data
  • Update registers and statistics
  • Maintain incoming and outgoing document registers
  • Handle routine enquiries
  • Distribute documents and packages to stakeholders
  • Make photocopies and send/receive facsimiles
  • Maintain filing systems
  • Type letters and other correspondence when required

🛒 Supply Chain Support

  • Provide clerical support within Supply Chain processes
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding procurement
  • Obtain quotations for goods and services
  • Complete procurement forms for purchasing office items
  • Manage stock control of office stationery
  • Maintain the asset register

👥 Personnel Administration Support

  • Maintain leave register
  • Keep personnel records updated
  • Maintain attendance register
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for officials

💰 Financial Administration Support

  • Capture and update expenditure records
  • Check subsistence and travel claims for correctness
  • Submit claims to manager for approval
  • Manage petty cash
  • Handle telephone accounts
