Key Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Minimum Grade 10 / Std 8.
  • Licensing: Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
  • Experience: 7–12 months relevant driving experience.
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to driving and vehicle management.
    • Knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance procedures.
    • Awareness of storage requirements and messenger services.
    • Familiarity with office support tasks such as registry functions, photocopying, faxing, and document delivery.
    • Procedures for operating vehicles, obtaining trip authorizations, completing logbooks, recording fuel usage, and monitoring kilometre services.
  • Skills:
    • Professional driving of light and medium vehicles.
    • Vehicle maintenance skills, including fixing/changing flat tyres.
    • Reading, writing, and clerical abilities.
    • Cleaning and upkeep of vehicles.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Driving light and medium motor vehicles to transport staff and deliver mail or other items.
  • Performing routine maintenance on allocated vehicles and reporting defects promptly.
  • Completing all required and prescribed vehicle records, logbooks, and documentation accurately.
  • Providing clerical support to the relevant office, including:
    • Assisting with registry functions.
    • Photocopying and faxing documents.
    • Collecting and delivering documentation and related items across the college.
  • Offering messenger services within the college, ensuring smooth internal communication and document flow.
  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and ensuring it is always in operational condition.
  • Following all safety protocols and adhering to college policies during transport duties.
