Job Summary:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is hiring energetic people to fill the position of Dispensary Support. The job seeks to employ candidates who can finish the learner basic pharmacy assistant course with success. As a result of their thorough understanding of pharmaceutical concepts and dispensing procedures, candidates will receive high-quality on-the-job training. Dispensary Support employees will work on a fixed-term contract until they register as learner basic assistants with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). If they pass the certification process, they may be hired on a permanent basis.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric or Senior Certificate with Pure Mathematics (50%), Life Science and/or Physical Science (50% average).

 

Responsibilities:

-Staff members working in Dispensary Support must pass a competency test in order to apply for Pharmacy Council (SAPC) registration.

-Among the duties are:

– Handling the sale of drugs on Schedule 1 or other scheduled substances. Helping to prepare, manipulate, or synthesize non

-sterile medications in accordance with established protocols.

– Stock unpacking and marketing; keeping OTC and dispensary shelves clean.

– Correct script interpretation, guaranteeing adherence to legal specifications. Overseeing the selection, packaging, labeling, and accuracy check of pharmaceuticals.

– Keeping an eye on expiry date tracking, shelf organization, and cleanliness and stock levels.

– Checking in with patients regarding appointments and script tracking. Overseeing phone calls for patient service and call center scripts.

– Giving people information about their health. Helping to obtain authorization for cancer, HIV/AIDS, and chronic drugs.

-Reporting on low or unavailable stock levels

 

Competencies:

Essential:

proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) in both English and a second language.

Excellent time management, a strong sense of deadlines, the capacity to perform under pressure, and meticulousness.

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, attentive listening skills, and a focus on providing excellent customer service.

Team player having the capacity to handle disputes, set an example, take responsibility, and act professionally.

reliable and sincere. competent with computers and numbers.

 

Advantageous:

 

FMCG retail experience, with a distinguished track record in performance at the Dis-Chem front shop.

understanding of complementary medicine, family planning, and medications.

familiarity with SAP, E-Scripting, and Unisolv.

 

Special Conditions of Employment:

 

passing the competence test with success in order to register with the Pharmacy Council.

citizenship in South Africa.

clean criminal, credit, and MIE records.
