Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and efficiently
  • Ensure smooth reception operations, including check-in/check-out processes and necessary audits
  • Maintain open communication with Front Office Manager and Reception Supervisors regarding guest feedback and departmental updates
  • Demonstrate professionalism and uphold high grooming standards
  • Participate in training and development initiatives, assisting with Night Team training as needed
  • Stay informed about hotel room categories, rates, packages, promotions, and other relevant information
  • Utilize up-selling techniques to maximize room occupancy and promote hotel services
  • Adhere to hotel policies regarding currency, credit card, and cash transactions
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations, and health and safety legislation
  • Operate front-of-house equipment and property management systems in accordance with company policies
  • Assist other departments as required

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in a customer-focused industry
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in IT applications
  • Previous experience in cash handling is advantageous
