Description
  • Set up, tidy, and examine workspaces and tools.
  • Manage and arrange raw supplies
  • Equipment and sample work areas for contamination
  • Clean pipes and drains to prevent contamination.
  • Associated administrative duties
Requirements

Operational Support

  • Follow established quality and safety standards as well as rules, procedures, and guidelines when carrying out production activities.
  • Optimize your own workflow.
  • Determine any gaps in the policies and practices in place.
  • Encourage process implementation in your own field of expertise.

Inspections & Verifications

  • Examine the producing area(s) and equipment visually.
  • Conduct pre-production inspections in accordance with BMR, SOP, and product specifications, including environmental, scale, and equipment inspections.
  • Check the scale and performance of the measuring apparatus.

Material Handling

  • Dispense, transfer, weigh and collect raw materials for processing
  • Ensure raw materials are staged for processing, in line with requirements

Production Preparation

  • Set up the room and IBCs for production activities
  • Prepare solutions for production activities as per SOP

Routine Support Tasks

  • As per the SOP and cleaning checklist, clean the work area(s) and equipment both before and after processing the materials.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the equipment and equipment transfers.
  • Gather manufacturing area and equipment samples for testing.
  • Purge the area of contaminants by cleaning the pipes and drains.
  • Help sort defective products and dispose of or reduce waste
  • Provide details to help with campaign planning.
  • Determine and document operational issues that deviate from the specification.

Reporting & Record Keeping

  • Whole batch labels for records Full sheets of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Conduct inspections of the production area(s) every 30 minutes.
  • Participate in shift meetings Give information so that reports can be completed.
  • Finish and compile the required paperwork.
  • As needed, keep up with and update systems and records.

Skills Required

Background/experience

  • National Certification (N4) or Matric 0-2 years’ related experience
  • Manufacturing experience would be an advantage

Specific job skills

  • Basic technical knowledge of pharmaceutical production processes, procedures, systems, and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of pharmaceutical standards and compliance requirements
