Job Purpose
To ensure seamless hospital operations and uphold exceptional patient care standards by transporting and escorting patients, medical equipment, files, and related items between departments.

Key Responsibilities
-Safely escort patients to designated locations within the hospital

-Assist with patient evacuations during emergencies

-Perform driver duties as requested, adhering to hospital transportation policies

-Safeguard patient rights and embody Mediclinic’s values of confidentiality and compassion

-Handle and transport equipment, medical records, and files between departments

-Assist with transport-related administrative tasks, including log updates and communication via two-way radio

-Support internal emergency procedures and evacuation plans when necessary

Education & Experience
Required:

-Minimum Grade 10 education

-Valid driving license with Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

-Experience in client-facing roles or public service

-Preferred:

-Previous healthcare or care-worker experience

Skills & Knowledge
-Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)

-Knowledge of patient rights charter and medico-legal considerations

-Mastery of safe patient handling techniques and kinetic principles

-Ability to operate two-way radio systems effectively

-Computer proficient (Microsoft Office, basic administrative tools)

-Understanding of Health & Safety Act regulations and internal evacuation procedures
