As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Handyman to join our team at the Head Office in Waterfall.
Job Purpose
The purpose of the Handyman role is to provide general maintenance, repairs, and support services to ensure that all building systems and facilities are fully functional, safe, and maintained to company standards. The incumbent will assist the Facilities Manager in carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance work as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification: Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4).
- Experience: Proven experience as a handyman or maintenance technician.
- Knowledge: Basic plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance knowledge.
- Physical Ability: Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour.
- License: Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
- Added Advantage:
- Trade certificate or relevant technical qualification.
- Tertiary technical training in electrical, plumbing, or building maintenance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and basic maintenance of hard services equipment such as HVAC systems, lighting, and pumps.
- Identify faults and carry out repairs or escalate to technical specialists where required.
- Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance, safety checks, and building inspections.
- Support the Facilities Manager in planning and executing maintenance projects and ad hoc operational tasks.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report all completed and outstanding work.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a neat and organized work environment, ensuring efficient use of company time and resources.
- Perform other reasonable duties related to building, electrical, or plumbing maintenance as requested.

- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assess faults, identify causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Proactively monitors building systems to maintain high operational standards.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, vendors, and co-workers.
- Time Management: Able to prioritise tasks and complete work efficiently under minimal supervision.
