Position Overview
Auto Pedigree invites applications from honest, trustworthy, and responsible individuals with relevant driving experience to apply for the position of Driver/Cleaner at the Secunda branch. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily operational activities by ensuring the safe transportation of vehicles, goods, documentation, and customers, while also maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the vehicle fleet and premises.
This position is critical in upholding the company’s professional image, operational efficiency, and customer service standards. The Driver/Cleaner will be expected to operate in strict compliance with company procedures, road traffic regulations, and health and safety requirements at all times.
Purpose of the Role
The primary purpose of this role is to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient transport service in line with agreed standard operating procedures and legislative requirements. The Driver/Cleaner will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and quality of vehicles and ensuring that all deliveries, collections, and cleaning duties are completed to Auto Pedigree’s high standards.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate is essential.
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ relevant driving or operational experience.
Licensing & Transport
- Valid Code 08 unendorsed driver’s licence.
- Must have own reliable transport.
Additional Requirements
- Basic computer literacy.
- Must be fully bilingual and able to communicate effectively with customers in English.
- Ability to read and interpret maps.
- Must have a clean driving record and sound knowledge of traffic laws.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Vehicle Cleaning and Presentation
- Clean the interior and exterior of vehicles thoroughly and in accordance with company standards.
- Ensure all vehicles are properly washed, polished, vacuumed, and sanitized before delivery.
- Report any defects, damage, or quality issues identified during cleaning.
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness reflects a professional brand image at all times.
Vehicle Quality Control
- Conduct routine quality checks on all vehicles.
- Identify and report expired licence discs, defects, or mechanical issues.
- Ensure that vehicles meet Auto Pedigree’s quality and safety standards prior to delivery.
Driving and Delivery Operations
- Deliver vehicles safely to customers in line with company procedures.
- Collect and deliver documentation to and from banks, suppliers, and clients.
- Transport customers when required in a professional, courteous, and safe manner.
- Comply strictly with all road traffic laws and company driving policies.
Premises Cleanliness and Support
- Maintain cleanliness and general housekeeping of the branch premises.
- Assist with keeping the workshop, yard, and customer areas clean and orderly.
- Support general operational tasks as requested by management.
Ethical Conduct and Asset Protection
- Maintain the integrity of the company by safeguarding company assets at all times.
- Act ethically and honestly in all dealings with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Protect confidential company and customer information.
General Support Duties
- Assist with ad-hoc requests related to operations and logistics.
- Work flexible hours when required to meet operational demands.
- Support the team in achieving branch performance targets.
