Position Overview

The Courier Driver is responsible for executing essential operational processes within the station and hub environment. This includes on‑road pick‑up and delivery, ground operations, dispatch, sorting, and ensuring that all packages meet FedEx’s strict standards for safety, accuracy, and timeliness.

You will interact with customers daily, navigate local delivery routes, complete multiple stops efficiently, and ensure compliance with all FedEx operational requirements. This role requires a professional with excellent time management, strong communication, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.


Key Responsibilities

1. Courier, Pick‑Up & Delivery Operations

  • Perform daily domestic and international pick‑ups and deliveries across allocated routes.
  • Ensure all packages are handled safely, scanned accurately, loaded correctly, and delivered on time.
  • Provide customers with exceptional service at every interaction, maintaining FedEx’s global service standards.
  • Complete door‑to‑door deliveries in compliance with company safety guidelines and traffic regulations.

2. Ground Operations & Station Support

  • Support station and hub processes, including:
    • Sorting
    • Packing
    • Loading
    • Dispatch
    • Ramp operations
  • Ensure all operational tasks are executed with precision to maintain the FedEx service promise.

3. Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Follow all FedEx policies, safety procedures, and local regulations.
  • Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy, clean, and maintained according to company standards.
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly.
  • Adhere to package handling protocols to minimize damage and loss.

4. Customer Service Excellence

  • Represent FedEx with professionalism and courtesy at every customer touchpoint.
  • Provide real-time updates and communicate delivery challenges when necessary.
  • Resolve delivery issues promptly or escalate when required.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid Code 08 driver’s license
  • Strong knowledge of Johannesburg routes and local geography (advantageous)
  • Ability to lift, load, and offload packages safely
  • Strong physical stamina and time-management skills
