**Join the Tshwane Fire and Rescue Service as a Firefighter**
**Job Purpose**
To perform managerial, administrative, and technical tasks related to fire and rescue operations, fire station management, fire and life safety, command and control, and training activities on a shift basis, ensuring the safety and well-being of the Tshwane community.
**Primary Functions**
– Combat and extinguish fires
– Provide rescue services
– Manage hazardous material incidents
– Perform special and humanitarian services
– Deliver emergency medical services
– Conduct urban search and rescue operations
– Execute daily fire station tasks and activities
**Appointment Requirements**
– Grade 12
– Second year of a National Diploma in Fire Technology (T2) or a Graduate Diploma in Fire Technology
– Basic Life Support (BAA/BLS) certification
– Minimum of 3 years’ continuous experience in operational fire services
– Valid Code C driver’s license
– Reasonable physical and medical fitness, with no respiratory anomalies
– Willingness to undergo a criminal record check (including fingerprinting by Tshwane Metro Police Department at own cost)
– Flexibility to be assigned to any fire station in Tshwane
– Availability to work shifts, overtime, standby, and after-hours (including weekends and public holidays) with minimal notice
