# General Worker – Midas Goodwood Branch

## Job Purpose
Midas is seeking a dedicated General Worker for our Goodwood branch to perform essential warehouse tasks, including stock taking, binning, picking, packing, checking, and moving stock, while maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.

## Specific Role Responsibilities

### Binning
– Bin incoming merchandise and replenish inventory from bulk to pick locations in accordance with standard operating procedures.
– Assign bin location numbers to new products in the correct warehouse area.
– Report and update bin locations for stock reallocations to your supervisor.
– Assist with replenishment tasks as needed.
– Receive and check incoming goods to meet company standards.

### Picking
– Pick customer and branch orders promptly to meet order cut-off times.
– Pick from bulk locations only when stock in pick locations is depleted or for bulk orders to avoid breaking pack sizes.
– Follow all reasonable and lawful instructions from your supervisor.
– Adhere to procedures to enhance customer satisfaction.
– Assist in stock take processes.
– Perform daily housekeeping to maintain a tidy warehouse.
– Conduct double checks to ensure high customer satisfaction and prevent inventory loss.
– Consistently achieve set operational targets.

### Scanner Control
– Issue scanners to operators daily and log them using the electronic app.
– Receive scanners back, inspect for damage, and log them back into stock via the electronic app.
– Report any scanner damage to the supervisor.
– Complete the daily scanner issue spreadsheet.

## Qualifications and Experience
– Grade 12 or equivalent with literacy and numeracy skills.
– At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (desirable).
– Knowledge of spares, motor, or engine parts, warehouse systems, and procedures.
