Role Overview
As a Part-Time Sales Assistant at PEP Viljoenskroon, you will play a vital role in supporting store objectives, including:
- Promoting outstanding customer service
- Managing the cash register with honesty and accuracy
- Helping to minimise shrinkage through strong security and stock handling
- Supporting efficient inventory and store operations
- Working within a fun, low-cost culture focused on teamwork and performance
With up to 27 hours per week, this role offers flexibility and a pathway for internal growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Customer Engagement & Sales
- Greet every customer warmly, assist with selections, and offer product knowledge.
- Upsell and cross‑sell where appropriate to help customers discover more of what they love.
- Address customer queries or concerns courteously and clearly, promoting current deals and promotions.
- Cash Handling & Point‑of‑Sale
- Process all transactions accurately and in compliance with company policy.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation at the till station.
- Handle returns, exchanges, and payment issues with professionalism.
- Stock & Merchandising
- Receive, unpack, organise, and replenish stock on the shop floor.
- Keep displays neat, attractive, and stocked—aligned with brand standards.
- Ensure storerooms are well-organised and accessible.
- Loss Prevention
- Follow security protocols and low-cost culture principles to reduce loss.
- Promptly report security incidents, hazards, or cash discrepancies.
- Store Standards & Maintenance
- Contribute to store cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation.
- Participate in routine housekeeping duties and maintain high visual standards.
- Team Collaboration
- Work together with fellow Dynamos to achieve daily targets.
- Support an atmosphere of fun, respect, and mutual accountability.
- Attend team meetings and assist with daily store activities.
Requirements
To be considered, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Location: Live within 15 km of Viljoenskroon
- Reliability: Honest and trustworthy—especially with cash
- Language: Fluent in English (additional languages helpful)
- Criminal Record: Must be clear
- Computer Literacy: Basic digital skills
- Passion: Genuine interest in retail and customer service
Preferred, but Not Mandatory
- Experience in cashiering, sales, customer service, or retail
- South African citizenship
- Aged between 20 and 35*
