Introduction
Parts Incorporated Africa, a leading player in the automotive spares and logistics industry, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented General Worker to join its Pretoria branch. This role is vital in ensuring that the warehouse operations run smoothly and that customers consistently receive efficient, accurate, and reliable service. The General Worker will perform a variety of warehouse duties, including stock handling, order preparation, binning, picking, packing, scanner control, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised environment.

Purpose of the Role
The General Worker is responsible for carrying out warehouse support functions to ensure the effective flow of goods within the branch. By performing binning, picking, packing, scanning, stock taking, and housekeeping tasks, the General Worker contributes to the branch’s overall efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Binning and Stock Handling
- Ensure all incoming merchandise is binned accurately and replenished from bulk to pick locations in line with standard operating procedures.
- Allocate bin location numbers for all new products in the correct warehouse areas.
- Report and update supervisors on any changes in bin locations and stock movements.
- Support replenishment functions to ensure stock availability at all times.
- Receive and check all incoming goods against company standards and documentation.
2. Picking and Packing
- Pick customer and branch orders timeously to meet daily cut-off schedules.
- Ensure picking from bulk locations is only conducted when picking bins are depleted or for bulk orders, in order to prevent damage and maintain pack integrity.
- Accurately pack stock according to customer and branch requirements.
- Double-check orders to prevent errors, avoid inventory losses, and uphold high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Assist with stock take and cycle counts as directed by supervisors.
3. Scanner Control
- Issue handheld scanners to all operators daily and book them out on the electronic application.
- Receive scanners at the end of each shift, inspect them for damage, and book them back into stock using the electronic app.
- Maintain accurate records of scanner use on the daily issue spreadsheet.
- Report any damages or malfunctions to supervisors immediately.
4. Housekeeping and Safety
- Perform daily housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.
- Remove obstacles, debris, and hazards from warehouse areas to promote safety.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures at all times.
5. Additional Duties
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks and lawful instructions from supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve warehouse and operational targets.

Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate (essential).
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (essential).
- At least 3 years of experience in a warehouse and/or logistics environment (desirable).
- Knowledge of motor spares, engine parts, and warehouse systems (advantageous).
- Previous experience in inventory management and stock control procedures (advantageous).
