As part of this commitment, we are seeking a dedicated Administrator: Safety, Health & Risk to join our Risk Department at the Hercules site in Pretoria.

Purpose of the Role

The Administrator: Safety, Health & Risk is responsible for the effective administration and coordination of the Integrated SHE Management System and related documentation at PPC’s Hercules operations. The role ensures that SHE information, training schedules, audits, and risk-related processes are continuously updated, accessible, and compliant with PPC’s standards and relevant legislation.

The successful candidate will be the central support point for SHE documentation, reporting, audits, and system management, contributing to a safe, compliant, and high-performance working environment.


Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

1. System & Document Administration

  • Administer and maintain the Integrated SHE Management System (Isometrix/SHERQ SharePoint).
  • Ensure all SHE-related documents are continuously updated and electronically accessible.
  • Maintain both electronic and physical filing systems for SHEQ records, ensuring compliance and ease of retrieval.
  • Act as group administrator relief for PPC when required.

2. Training, Audits & Inspections

  • Plan, coordinate, and diarise all SHE-related training, risk assessments, internal audits, and safety meetings.
  • Provide training on Isometrix and SHERQ SharePoint systems as required.
  • Conduct regular site SHEQ systems audits and prepare detailed reports.
  • Support preparation for external audits and ensure documentation and evidence are audit-ready.
  • Perform physical plant inspections, draft inspection reports, provide client feedback, and follow up on corrective actions to closure.

3. Risk & Compliance Support

  • Ensure continuous updating of risk-related information.
  • Assist with requisitions, audit preparation, and compliance documentation.
  • Correspond with authorities and external stakeholders regarding SHEQ matters.
  • Support SHE legislation compliance by keeping updated with statutory requirements.

4. Access Control & Safety Monitoring

  • Administer and monitor access control systems and procedures at site level.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting of SHE-related incidents and risk activities.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Grade 12 / Matric (Compulsory).
  • Diploma or National Diploma in Safety Management or related field (Advantageous).

Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a Safety, Health, Environmental, and Risk-related environment.
  • Experience with Isometrix and SharePoint systems (Advantageous).
  • Solid knowledge of SHE legislation and SHERQ system standards.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Understanding of safety documentation, filing systems, and compliance processes.
  • Ability to draft, review, and edit SHE reports.
