Job Purpose

BIL is offering a 12-month learnership opportunity for African females living with a disability. This initiative is designed to provide participants with both practical workplace exposure and a registered QCTO qualification in the Freight and Logistics industry.

Learners will rotate across various divisions within BIL, gaining hands-on experience while completing structured theoretical modules through the BIL eLearning Platform. This opportunity is perfect for determined, ambitious individuals who want to build a foundation for a successful career in logistics.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this learnership, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Grade 12 / Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
  • Age Requirement: Between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Employment Status: Must be unemployed at the time of application.
  • Availability: Must be available and committed to working full time for the duration of the 12-month programme.
  • Industry Interest: Must demonstrate an avid interest in the Transport and Logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities

As a learner in this programme, your responsibilities will include:

  • Commitment: Dedicate yourself to completing the full 12-month learnership programme, which includes both theoretical and practical training.
  • Rotations: Participate in structured learning rotations across three divisions within BIL, gaining exposure to different functions of logistics and supply chain management.
  • Learning Delivery: Complete all theoretical learning modules via the BIL eLearning Platform within set timelines.
  • Portfolio of Evidence (POE): Compile and submit a comprehensive portfolio of evidence upon completion of the qualification, demonstrating your competencies and skills gained.
  • Engagement: Actively participate in training sessions, assessments, and mentorship opportunities.
  • Professional Conduct: Represent BIL with professionalism, adhering to corporate workplace standards in both appearance and conduct.

  • Commitment: Determination to complete all programme requirements successfully.

  • Basic Computer Literacy: Comfort using MS Office, eLearning platforms, and digital communication tools.
  • Teamwork & Adaptability: Ability to collaborate within diverse teams and adapt to a structured work environment.
