We are now seeking a professional, safety-conscious, and customer-oriented Driver to join our Operations Division. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that our crew and staff are transported safely, efficiently, and comfortably between airports, hotels, training centres, and other designated points.

Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to ensure the timely and safe transport of flight and ground crew, staff, and materials, while upholding FlySafair’s safety standards, operational schedules, and professional image. The Driver will be responsible for vehicle maintenance checks, record-keeping, and providing courteous assistance to all passengers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Crew and Staff Transport
- Safely transport crew members, staff, and operational personnel between airports, hotels, training centres, and other designated points.
- Ensure all passengers reach their destinations punctually and in comfort, in accordance with flight schedules and operational timetables.
- Assist with ad-hoc collections, deliveries, and logistics support when required.
- Load, secure, and unload luggage, documents, or operational materials as needed.
2. Vehicle Management and Maintenance
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, checking tyres, lights, oil, fuel, and other key components.
- Report any vehicle defects, mechanical issues, or irregularities immediately to the supervisor.
- Keep the vehicle clean, presentable, and roadworthy at all times, both inside and out.
- Monitor service schedules, licensing renewals, and insurance documentation to ensure full compliance with company and road regulations.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance (e.g., topping up oil, checking tyre pressure, and replacing minor items where applicable).
3. Compliance and Record Keeping
- Adhere strictly to company safety, security, and operational procedures.
- Comply with road traffic laws, aviation security regulations, and FlySafair’s operational protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed trip logs, including mileage, destinations, fuel usage, and any expenses incurred.
- Submit all required receipts, reports, and trip sheets promptly and accurately.
- Report all incidents, accidents, or traffic violations immediately to management.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Deliver professional, courteous, and customer-focused service to crew members, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Represent FlySafair with integrity and professionalism in every interaction.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with dispatchers, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate schedules and respond to operational needs.
- Assist crew members with luggage handling, ensuring comfort and convenience throughout the journey.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification – Essential.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Valid South African Code B Driver’s License – Essential.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) – Essential.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience – preferably in a crew transport, aviation, or corporate shuttle environment.
- Experience in route planning and time management across Gauteng and major airports will be advantageous.
Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of road traffic laws, vehicle maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical awareness and ability to perform minor maintenance checks.
- Familiarity with airport and crew transport procedures will be an advantage.

Work Conditions
- The role requires shift work, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Based primarily at FlySafair operational hubs and airport environments.
- Work may include local and regional driving assignments, occasionally cross-border when necessary.
