Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this learnership is to provide an opportunity for five (5) motivated learners to participate in and successfully complete a 12-month structured Administration Learnership Programme. The programme integrates theoretical learning (NQF-aligned modules) with practical workplace experience to help learners gain foundational knowledge, technical skills, and administrative capabilities required within a corporate environment.

Learners will be placed within Sasol’s Group Rewards and Human Capital Solutions (PSR) environment, where they will contribute to day-to-day administrative processes, support departmental functions, and gain practical exposure to business operations. This opportunity is specifically designed for individuals with Matric who aspire to build a career in business administration, human capital, office management, corporate governance, or related fields.

Programme Overview

The Administration Learnership is a full-time, fixed-term programme spanning 12 months. It includes:

1. Theoretical Component (NQF-aligned):

Learners will complete theoretical modules designed to build foundational workplace knowledge and life skills. Topics covered include:

  • Entrepreneurship and Business Operations
  • Customer Service Excellence
  • Business Accounting Fundamentals
  • Mathematics Literacy for Business
  • Professional Communication
  • Computer Skills and Digital Literacy
  • Basic Business Principles
  • Workplace Readiness and Professional Conduct

This academic foundation equips learners with a strong understanding of business environments, enabling them to integrate more effectively into real administrative functions.

2. Practical Workplace Training:

Learners will gain hands-on exposure in Sasol’s administrative and support environments. Duties will include:

  • Providing administrative support to managers, teams, and functional departments.
  • Assisting with document management, filing, data entry, and record-keeping.
  • Learning to coordinate meetings, schedules, and departmental communications.
  • Supporting basic HR and office operations activities.
  • Participating in workflow management, performance tracking, and general departmental duties.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by applying knowledge gained through theoretical learning.

This practical exposure ensures workplace readiness and helps learners understand corporate expectations, professional etiquette, and organisational processes.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric / Grade 12 (compulsory)
  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Administration, HR, Business Management, or a related field will be an added advantage
  • 0–1 years of experience (entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply)
  • South African citizenship
  • Willingness to commit to a full 12-month learning and development programme
  • Strong interest in administration and business support roles
