Role Purpose

The Grants Administrator ensures accurate and efficient processing of social grant applications, provides frontline customer service, and upholds Batho Pele principles in delivering quality public service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Applicants: Guide community members through grant application processes, verify documents, and explain eligibility requirements.
  • Capture & Screen Applications: Enter applicant data into SASSA systems and ensure completeness before processing.
  • Administer Medical Bookings: Schedule medical assessments for disability-related grants.
  • Provide Off-Site Services: Participate in outreach programs to serve rural communities.
  • Document Management: Scan, batch, and organize grant files for secure record-keeping.
  • Customer Care: Handle queries professionally and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification:
    • NQF Level 6 (Diploma or Advanced Certificate) in one of the following fields:
      • Public Administration
      • Business Administration
      • Economics
      • Development Studies
      • Finance / Accounting / Commerce
      • Information Technology
      • Law
      • Social Sciences / Social Security
  • Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency in MS Office and data capturing systems.
  • Knowledge of Legislation:
    • Social Assistance Act
    • SASSA Act
    • Batho Pele Principles
