Position Summary
The Shop Assistant / Cashier role is central to ensuring efficient point-of-sale operations, superior customer service, and effective merchandising in-store. This position requires accuracy, professionalism, and a proactive approach to promoting Clicks’ products and loyalty programs.
Key Job Objectives
- Point-of-Sale Operations:
- Execute all POS activities efficiently and accurately.
- Scan merchandise and process payments with precision, including handling Clicks ClubCard rewards.
- Ensure safe handling of cash at all times.
- Customer Engagement:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by acting as a brand ambassador.
- Proactively promote Clicks ClubCard and enroll new members to achieve participation targets.
- Inform customers about current promotions to drive sales and enhance the shopping experience.
- Merchandising & Housekeeping:
- Maintain store presentation standards through effective merchandising and housekeeping.
- Ensure compliance with visual merchandising guidelines.
- Knowledge & Product Awareness:
- Stay updated on product ranges, promotions, and events to provide accurate information to customers.
- Support the company’s vision by living and driving Clicks’ values in daily operations.
Knowledge Requirements
- Basic mathematical calculations for accurate transactions.
- Understanding of retail/FMCG operations, including merchandising and promotional principles.
- Familiarity with stock management procedures.
- Knowledge of customer service excellence standards.
