About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking reliable and professional individuals to join the Logistics Directorate as Drivers. This role is essential for ensuring safe and efficient transportation of patients, staff, and essential documents within the hospital and to designated destinations. Successful candidates will uphold Batho Pele principles and contribute to the smooth functioning of healthcare services.
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- License Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) at own expense.
- Experience:
- No experience required.
- Added Advantage: 2–5 years’ experience as a driver.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of Batho Pele Principles and six ministerial priorities of Health.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Preparedness to work shifts and handle emergency transport duties.
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Transport patients and staff members to and from designated destinations as instructed by the Transport Manager.
- Ensure proper maintenance and roadworthiness of the assigned vehicle.
- Safeguard transport documents by recording log sheets and petrol slips after each trip.
- Report any vehicle damages or mechanical issues to the Supervisor promptly.
- Transport theatre staff and other hospital personnel for emergency cases.
- Clean and sanitize vehicle interiors after use to maintain hygiene standards.

Salary & Benefits
- Annual package: R193,359 per annum.
